It's always about reservoir, always
It looks like I'm in a sharpdown with Velociworld. I'll do my best to explain.
I believe it’s always about reservoir and endurance, always. The sharpness counts of course, but both these tools do that job with equal finesse.
But as I fondle, caress the memories of my Boston 55 Ranger with it’s full load reservoir, what counts is that it goes the distance, and without aid, it carries the load until the job is done. Made in the good old USA, out of steel, the "firmness and stability" cannot be equaled, it simply can't be done. Only those who have handled this monster can possibly understand that there is no equal. All other's fall short of the Boston 55 Ranger.
I’ve never resorted to mechanical pencils myself. Still just use the old pencil but years ago I bought Igor, the electric pencil sharpener. The ferociousness that Igor displays while sharpening a pencil leaves you with a sense of awe. I will pit Igor and my old pencils against a mechanical any day for speed. By the time someone can reload his or her mechanical, Igor has already sharpened at least one pencil, and still holding it's load, ready to go for another round.
I brought the Boston 55 Ranger down from upstairs to set next to Igor, both of these fine marvels of engineering, sharpen a pencil with a finesse that has no equal.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Take a second; look at the distance my Boston 55 Ranger has gone, and then tell me that pure functionality isn’t aesthetically pleasing.
By the way, once I empty these reservoirs, think of the cedar shavings I wallow in.
Being nice I also didn’t want to insult, or offend, but the 66 GTO was underpowered. I prefer the 68 GTO with it’s graceful lines, sleek styling, and of course the 455 engine. What a beast it was, made to go, I purr just thinking about it.
Update: Another "sharpdown" contributor shows his version. I'm going to go over and read his blog for awhile. Looks interesting, but first I need a beer.

I ground so many Mirados with my Berol yesterday I was able to mulch the front beds.
